The artist
Ashley Ravidas is a California-based abstract painter who transitioned to full-time studio practice in 2024, following a decade in software consulting. She brings a systems-oriented approach to composition and process.
Working with acrylic on canvas and paper, she employs matte medium, paint, and tape to create subtle surface ridges. Her carefully calibrated gradients and repeated geometric forms generate visual effects suggesting movement, depth, and vibration.
Her work extends the legacy of Ellsworth Kelly, Frank Stella, and Bridget Riley through contemporary sensibilities informed by digital thinking, restraint, and repetition.
